In order to access your blitzmail from away from home, the most important thing to do is to PLAN AHEAD!! So, read over and follow these guidelines carefully to ensure that everything goes smoothly and you can acess your mail without a problem.

Forward all your WAC Blitzmail to another account.

You can use a friend's account, OR you can open another account yourself in hotmail.com, yahoo.com, mail.com, etc... For instructions on how to forward your Blitzmail, click here.

 Install Blitzmail on your computer.

Blitzmail can be installed from one disk for Macs, but 2 disks are required for Windows. SPECIAL NOTE: If you are online, you can download BlitzMail for either Mac or Windows from Dartmouth College.

Put the basic WC email information into any email program or browser.

For example, you can use either Netscape or the Internet Explorer's mail program:
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: smtp.washcoll.edu
if you are dialing into Washington College. If you use a different provider, the use the SMTP server for your ISP.
Incoming mail(POP) server: pop.washcoll.edu

The settings for using Netscape 4.0 Email are as follows:

2. Go to the Edit menu and select Preferences...

4. Click once on Identity and then fill in the following ( for example if your name is George Washington).
Your name: George Washington
Email address: george_washington@washcoll.edu

5. Next click once on Mail Server and then fill in the following:
Mail server user name: George Washington
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: smtp.washcoll.edu
