What is Fetch 3.03 Fetch is an FTP program for the Macintosh. FTP means File Transfer Protocol. Fetch is used to transport files to and from the web. When you create a web page, you will need to use an FTP program to upload your files to the web server. Fetch allows you to transfer files with any other connected machine that supports FTP type transfers. Fetch requires Mac Plus (or newer), System 4.1 (or later), and either MacTCP or Open Transport. Fetch also works fine with System 8.0 and up. Besides file transfers, Fetch also allows you to perform other functions. You can add, rename, or delete files or directories and change file attributes like read or write access privileges (provided that the college has granted you those privileges.) Fetch has an extensive built-in help file and tutorial file. We highly recommend that you use them. Getting a Copy of Fetch Click here to download a copy of Fetch. Special Note: We will have several half hour tutorial sessions throughout the semester in the Beck Computing Center on how to use Fetch and to keep you updated on the latest changes. Information about these tutorial sessions will be provided during the semester via blitzmail.
