Dialup Networking
for Windows 95/98
*Dialup accounts are not available
for students through Washington College. However, off-campus
students who want to be able to connect to the Washington College
network should sign up with one of the local ISPs (Internet Service
Providers).
 |
Obtain
a dialup account from the Your ISP. |
 |
Make
sure the phone line is connected to the modem port in the back
of the computer. |
 |
Click
on "My Computer" (or the computer icon on the desktop). |
 |
Click
on "Dialup Networking". |
 |
Click
on the icon for "Make new connection". |
 |
Follow
the instructions on the screen. |
 |
Title
the connection "WC Network." Click "next". |
 |
The
dialup number will be given by your ISP. (Make sure the area
code is blank!) Click "next". |
 |
After
clicking the "Finish" button, double click on the "WC
Network" icon. |
 |
User
name and password is one given to you by your ISP. |
 |
Click
on "OK" to start the connection. |
