Ethernet

If the connection fails to work, check the Ethernet port in the back of the computer. If there is no light by the plug, that means the connection is not active, and you need to contact the HelpDesk to turn on the connection.

Make sure all of the numbers are put in correctly and in the correct order in the Networking Properties control panel.

Dial-up

If the computer says the line is busy, that means all modems are taken at that time. Try again in about 15 minutes.
If the computer says that the Configurations of the Dialup Adapter are not correct, do not despair, this is a glitch in the program. Simply quit out of the dialup connection, and double click on the icon again. This will usually solve the problem.
If the computer says there is no dialtone, make sure your room phone is hung up and that the cables are attached properly.
If the computer says that the computer you are dialing is not answering, try the connection again, sometimes the servers are backed up or busy and won't accept the connection right away.
